OEM Account Manager

Position Summary

The National OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) Account Manager is responsible for selling Ashworth conveyor belts and monitoring systems to food equipment manufacturing companies in the Americas. The job’s purpose is to develop and grow strategic relationships with OEM customers through excellent sales and communication skills. Integrity, vision, and passion are essential for this role.

The position will generate revenue by soliciting and obtaining orders, interpreting technical requirements, and developing key accounts. Individuals must have excellent customer service, technical expertise and a thorough understanding of the customer’s expectations. The individual is expected to provide technical assistance for conveyor belt selection, prospect and qualify new OEM customers and will collaborate with Marketing, Customer Service, Engineering, Sales, and Finance.

Individuals must have industrial equipment or conveyor sales in the food, beverage, or logistics industry and/or technical service expertise in any of those industries.

 

Essential Functions

  • The job can be physically demanding and will require equipment audits for conveyor systems in spiral freezers, proofers, and ovens. This will require taking conveyor system measurements while climbing ladders and crawling in frozen/dark environments and in hot/humid conditions.

  • The candidate must have a strong mechanical aptitude and be able to identify critical system technical details, complete data sheets used for RFQs and clarify any ambiguities provided by the customer.

  • Assist Finance with late payment resolution by communicating with key customer contacts and clarifying customer billing information.

  • Log all sales calls into CRM detailing Customer equipment information, number of production lines and belt replacement schedule Perform systematic bid/quote follow-up with customer and accurately process all call transactions using a computer and designated CRM tracking and case software. (win/lose order).

  • Must be willing to travel as required based on business requirement, with occasional extended hours and weekends to attend trade shows and audit and troubleshoot customer equipment during emergency shut-down situations.

 

Education

Degree or Diploma in a technical field and/or an equivalent combination of education and technical sales experience in a manufacturing environment. Mechanical or electrical engineering degree a plus.
