Position Summary
This position, located in Fall River, Massachusetts, reports to the Vice President Finance and directs the daily financial activities of the organization in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). This is a hands-on role which also has supervisory responsibility for the accounting function
Essential Functions Statement
- Prepares timely reports for management which appraise, summarize, and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
- Oversees the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules, including consolidated statements.
- Oversees accounting function, including accounts payable; accounts receivable; general ledger; cost and fixed asset accounting.
- Coordinates the analysis of actual manufacturing costs versus standard costs and product profitability reporting.
- Directs and coordinates the preparation of budgets, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification.
- Establishes and maintains internal control systems and standard operating procedures to ensure adequate control, safeguarding of company assets, and compliance with laws.
- Leads the annual audit process and serves as main point of contact for external auditors.
- Maintains compliance with required bank covenants.
- Coordinates insurance coverage for the corporation’s property and casualty program.
- Manages the company’s travel and expense policies.
- Analyzes cost and expenses to advise managers of favorable or unfavorable business trends.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested by management.

Education
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field. Prior cost accounting experience required.
